What We Do
Dr. Nuñez provides neuropsychological evaluations and psychological testing to assess intellectual and cognitive functioning, including attention, memory, executive functioning, language, and visuospatial skills. Evaluations for specific learning disorders, personality functioning, and changes in mood and behavioral concerns are also offered.

Comprehensive evaluations to diagnose ADHD in adults (18+), clarify symptoms, guide treatment, and provide documentation for academic accommodations.
Comprehensive written report with DSM-5-TR diagnosis (if criteria are met), explanation of test results, specific accommodation recommendations, and treatment recommendations.
Extended time (50% or 100%), reduced-distraction environment, breaks during exams, preferential seating, note-taking assistance, assignment extensions.
Evaluations typically range from $2,000–$5,000 depending on complexity. Insurance generally does not cover accommodation-focused evaluations; a superbill is provided.

Evaluations for adults experiencing memory problems, confusion, or cognitive decline — distinguishing normal aging from conditions requiring medical attention.
Testing distinguishes between normal aging and conditions such as MCI, Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, frontotemporal dementia, pseudodementia, TBI/concussions, and medication effects on cognition.
The practice accepts Medicare, BCBS, Cigna, and Aetna for memory and cognitive evaluations when medically necessary. Verify your coverage using CPT codes: 96116, 96121, 96130–96133, 96136–96139, 96146.
Early assessment allows identification of treatable causes, access to medications that may slow progression, and planning for the future while the person can participate in decisions.

Individual therapy for adults navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, and adjustment challenges. A complement to evaluations or as a standalone service.
Evidence-based individual therapy in English or Spanish. Sessions offered via secure telehealth or in person at the practice locations.
Note: Dr. Nuñez's primary specialty is neuropsychological evaluation. Therapy is offered as a focused, complementary service.
How it works
60–90 minutes
Overview of current concerns, review of relevant history, and review of available records. For older adults, a family member is welcome to join and assist with the history intake.
4–8 hours
Includes formal standardized testing, pen-and-paper tasks, computerized testing, and self-report inventories to assess personality, emotional, and behavioral functioning. Testing may be completed in one session or split across several sessions to minimize fatigue.
7–10 days
Scoring and interpreting testing results, and integrating history, findings, and behavioral observations. A comprehensive report including diagnosis and recommendations is provided.
30–45 minutes
Review and explanation of results, diagnosis, and recommendations, along with presentation of the final report.
The complete evaluation process typically takes 14–21 days from the initial session to the final report.

The practice provides evaluations for adults ages 18 and older. We do not conduct assessments for children or adolescents under 18.
Comprehensive evaluations for ADHD and learning disorders typically range from $2,000 to $5,000, depending on the complexity of the case. Includes clinical interview, 4–6 hours of testing, scoring and interpretation, a detailed written report, and a feedback session. Transparent pricing is provided before you commit to testing.
Insurance typically does not cover neuropsychological testing for educational accommodations. While some plans cover testing when medically necessary, testing for college or standardized exam accommodations is generally not covered. A detailed superbill can be provided to submit for potential reimbursement.
Yes. Reports provide clear rationales for accommodation recommendations based on testing data. Testing companies and academic institutions approve requests case-by-case. Reports are designed to meet the level of detail and quality required by these organizations.
No. The practice does not provide gifted assessments or IQ testing for gifted program placement.
No referral is required, although many patients are referred by their primary care physician or neurologist. A copy of the report will be sent to your referring physician and any other providers you authorize.
Yes. Medicare Part B typically covers neuropsychological testing when medically necessary to diagnose or monitor cognitive disorders. You may be responsible for the Medicare Part B deductible and 20% coinsurance. The practice also accepts BCBS, Cigna, and Aetna.
Testing can be tiring, especially for older adults. We can take breaks as needed and split testing across multiple shorter sessions if necessary. The goal is to get an accurate picture of your abilities in a comfortable, supportive environment.
Schedule as soon as you or your family notice concerning changes. Early evaluation can identify treatable causes, detect mild impairment before it progresses, establish a baseline for monitoring, and provide peace of mind if testing shows normal aging.
About
Dr. Dágmar E. Nuñez is a clinical psychologist licensed in the state of Florida, specializing in neuropsychology, attention deficits, and executive functioning difficulties such as those seen in ADHD or related to anxiety and depressive disorders. She also focuses on memory concerns in older adults, including Alzheimer's disease and other forms of cognitive impairment and dementia.
She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Ponce Health Sciences University in Puerto Rico and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Neuropsychological Services in Plantation, Florida. Her professional experience includes Collier Neurologic Specialists in Naples, Florida, Family Therapy Group in Weston, Florida, and providing disability benefits evaluations for veterans. She is an active member of the American Psychological Association and the National Academy of Neuropsychology.
Dr. Nuñez currently enjoys an active lifestyle in South Florida, where she lives with her husband, her sons, and her cat. She maintains a private practice serving the tri-county area of Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach.
